Cutting-edge style that’s sustainable and indoor-air friendly prompts DuChateau nomination for Best Flooring Product of 2011
We had a feeling that more attention was on the way when we blogged about DuChateau Floors back in March. Sure enough, the company’s Terra Collection has been nominated for Interiors & Sources Readers’ Choice: Best Products of 2011.
DuChateau Floors have FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification and a natural hard-wax oil finish that is zero-VOC and contains no biocides or preservatives. While it is styled after the vintage hardwood found in Europe centuries ago, the Terra Collection offers modern, dark colors suited for contemporary and traditional interiors.
“The unique finish – created through a meticulous process of distressing, hard-wax oiling, smoking and brushing, reflects the spirit of the world’s raw and wild landscapes, the lush, fertile volcanic flows to the barren desert sand dunes,” reads DuChateau’s description of Terra.
DuChateau originated in Holland in 2000 and set up a U.S. headquarters in San Diego in 2007. For more information or to find a retailer, check out the pictures and read The Greenest of Them All.
