Nancy Kibbee

Editor & Natural Interiors® TV Producer

Nancy contributes about 20 years of experience in “green” products, journalism and marketing.

From 1999 until 2009, she served as President, CEO and Marketing Director for  a wholesale environmental products distribution company that was a front-runner in introducing quality bamboo, cork and linoleum flooring, chemical-free carpet, natural mattresses and nontoxic paints, stains and finishes.

Before that, Nancy worked as a public affairs specialist, a newspaper reporter and editor. She has a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from Texas Tech University.

Nancy has a special interest in making “green” certifications understandable for everyone.

Our LEED AP

Heather is the LEED AP adviser for Natural Interiors®.

She is an architect and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional. In her own business, she provides architectural services, LEED consultation and owns Greener Stock – a Cincinnati showroom and design resource center specializing in providing “green” building products.

Heather has a Bachelor’s degree in design from Clemson University and a Master’s of Architecture from the University of Washington.

Mike Smith

Our Flooring Trends Adviser — Midwest

Mike joined ProSource Wholesale Floorcoverings in Cincinnati, OH, as a warehouseman in 1998, when his enlistment in the U.S. Navy ended. After a few months, his customer service skills earned him a promotion to the sales staff. Working days and taking night classes at Cincinnati State Technical College, he earned his Associate’s degree in business management.

Mike is ever-mindful of flooring trends and strives to be the first to know about new “green” flooring products, which products perform the best and where the products are most popular. His clients include some of the region’s most visible designers who insist on cutting-edge style.

While he’s keeping them happy, he also helps Natural Interiors® visitors spot what’s hot.

Roy Young

Our Hardwood Floor Guy                                                                                                                                                                             

Whether it’s solid, engineered, prefinished or finished on site, Roy is our unfailing authority on proper hardwood installation and finishing techniques. As the Quality Control Manager at Schumacher & Co. Custom Hardwood Floors in Milford, OH, Roy also has served a critical role in testing hardwood floor finishes used in the Natural Interiors® Floor Finishing Program.

Roy, who studied fine arts at Miami University in Oxford, OH, has had a primary focus on flooring for almost a decade. Before that, his work experience included tile-setting, cabinetmaking, general remodeling and counter top fabrication.

His background makes him our go-to guy for all the technical hardwood, bamboo and cork questions that come in from www.naturalinteriors.com visitors.
